Using the Synthesizer Tool

This feature is not available with GRANTA EduPack 2020 Introductory.
The Synthesizer tool uses models to estimate the material properties of hybrid materials or the cost of components, enabling their performance to be compared with other materials in the MaterialUniverse database.

To use the Synthesizer Tool:

  1. To start the Synthesizer Tool, click Synthesizer in the main toolbar.
  2. Click the model name you want to use.
  3. Click Browse, and select a material from the MaterialUniverse tree.
  4. Enter values for the parameters and variables relevant to the Synthesizer model.
The available parameters are dependent on the selected model. For detailed information about the specific options, click the appropriate model link below:
  5. Under Record naming, enter a custom name for each record you have used in the model.
  6. Click Create. When the records have been created, the Results section will report 'Completed'
  7. Click Previous to return to the model settings and to create more records, or click Finish to close the Synthesizer Tool.

Notes

Information regarding synthesized record attributes is visible on the synthesized record datasheets, found by browsing the MaterialUniverse record tree under 'My records'.

If a record name conflict occurs, you will be offered the choice to replace the existing record.
